The War
.
Well, we see what the World, especially NATO with the United States of America really thinks about Ukraine and pukin’s Russia, and of its alliance. It was nice of NATO to let poor Zelenskyy know of the impending doom of his nation. We watched the whole damn thing play out on our television sets, blow by blow as if we were watching some sort of sports game. Nothing short of an analysis of a NFL game between the Giants and Dallas…for weeks....

As the newsies BSed around, enjoying the chitter chatter, and NATO “warning” the thug not to attack Ukraine as he amassed 175k troops at the border…

Supposedly, the second-best equipped army on Earth with 900k troops and superior technology…Against a Ukraine that has one of Europe's largest militaries, with 170,000 active-duty troops, 100,000 reservists and territorial defense forces that include at least 100,000 veterans. But was this discussion necessary?

First let’s talk about Ukraine and its value… I received this (no time to check accuracy you can if you choose to)

“For those who ask:  “Why does Ukraine matter? “

This is why Ukraine matters.
It is the second largest country by area in Europe, and has a population of over 40 million - more than Poland.
Ukraine ranks:
1st in Europe in proven recoverable reserves of uranium ores;
2nd place in Europe and 10th place in the world in terms of titanium ore reserves;
2nd place in the world in terms of explored reserves of manganese ores (2.3 billion tons, or 12% of the world's reserves);
2nd largest iron ore reserves in the world (30 billion tons);
2nd place in Europe in terms of mercury ore reserves;
3rd place in Europe (13th place in the world) in shale gas reserves (22 trillion cubic meters)
4th in the world by the total value of natural resources;
7th place in the world in coal reserves (33.9 billion tons)
Ukraine is an important agricultural country:
1st in Europe in terms of arable land area;
3rd place in the world by the area of black soil (25% of world's volume);
1st place in the world in exports of sunflower and sunflower oil;

4th largest producer of potatoes in the world;
5th largest rye producer in the world;
5th place in the world in bee production (75,000 tons);
8th place in the world in wheat exports;
9th place in the world in the production of chicken eggs;
16th place in the world in cheese exports.
Ukraine can meet the food needs of 600 million people.
Ukraine is an important industrialised country:
1st in Europe in ammonia production;
Europe's 2nd’s and the world’s 4th largest natural gas pipeline system;
3rd largest in Europe and 8th largest in the world in terms of installed capacity of nuclear power plants;
3rd place in Europe and 11th in the world in terms of rail network length (21,700 km);
3rd place in the world (after the U.S. and France) in production of locators and locating equipment;
3rd largest iron exporter in the world
4th largest exporter of turbines for nuclear power plants in the world;
4th world's largest manufacturer of rocket launchers;
4th place in the world in clay exports
4th place in the world in titanium exports
8th place in the world in exports of ores and concentrates;
9th place in the world in exports of defense industry products;
10th largest steel producer in the world (32.4 million tons).
Ukraine matters. That is why its independence is important to the rest of the world.”
And, I think our government and most of NATO knows this....

(Thanks to my good friend who sent this to me)

While mulling that over, I thought about this…. We and the rest of NATO spend billions on armies and weaponry…Why?? My answer is russia and China..… more so russia because russia is seen by us as an aggressive, warlike-hungry adversary bent on destroying the “West”; and we must be prepared to fight to maintain democracy around the world.

Second, we, the USA and other nations have a mostly a volunteer military; so people who volunteer have to know that by virtue of joining their armed forces, that they may be asked to go to war and if such is the case, war being a deadly enterprise, one may be injured or die…

So, after all the preparations and guns and tanks and personnel carriers, and missles, and air forces and navy units and training, when threatened, we decide that we are going to “sanction” the bad guy and his cohorts, while he shoots up Ukraine… While he sends his thousands of troops to invade a “democracy” which we are supposed to defend, while he destroys residences, and hospitals and nuclear plants, we “sanction”… But we telling the dictator, “We ain’t gonna fight you…” Like we punks and can be pushed around, “cause that’s what we look like… This new generation puzzles me….. pukin’s idea of peace is “Leave me the fqqq alone while I’m pillaging!!” And we say ‘”Okay”!!!

But what if we had decided to tell mr. pukin, “Naaah, ya ain’t coming in, taking over and destroying Ukraine”, and NATO sent 200 thousand peacekeepers and armament to Ukraine, might he, pukin, have changed his mind? And if not, then it’s war that he wanted to start in the first place… But he will have known it would not be a walkover……. And yes, folks, warriors will die… but that’s what soldiers, pilots and sailors signed up for.

I’m not a warhawk by no means, but are we peacekeepers or not? Sometimes you have to go to war to keep the peace… yes, you do...to save civilian lives and a civil structure, a democracy…

But we shrank from our mantra, we decided that the cost of sectional peace if any, or world peace, was the destruction of and the sacrificing of lives of the citizens and leadership of Ukraine… so what’s next, Poland, Latvia, Finland?? What, who???

Ukraine matters.. They matter because when somebody is trying to destroy your house and your neighbor’s, and they are outside in the yard, it’s easier to defend your property then, rather than trying to stop them AFTER they are in your house, and you are trying to chase them out….

Joe’s speech….
Boy, did Joe give us a rousing speech. All rosy and honey-dripped!! “We’re beating COVID….(with a million deaths) we can all stop wearing masks, washing our hands, and start having picnics, and gatherings, and weddings….Lets go back to normal...”

Persistently high inflation, a warning, not gone, global pandemic and a deeply divided Congress is what we have…..and those who survived COVID made out like bandits and are whooping it up, buying real estate and figuring out how to avoid paying taxes on their goldmine… but those of us… like senior citizens who were struggling before the pandemic are now worse off with sky high prices on EVERYTHING!!!!

So Joey says “We got this under control things are wonderful!!” Well, Joey you ain’t looking past your nose, ’cause there is a segment of voters who are getting their asses whipped, given the roads, internet, reduced tuition, college costs, etc. that you yakked about….

Biden highlighted key components of his stalled “Build Back Better” agenda without referring to the broader legislation by name. He identified several aspects of the reconciliation bill, ranging from lowering the costs of prescription drugs to expanding access to childcare to cutting energy costs through investments and tax credits, as part of his plan to combat inflation.

Never mind Passing the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, Paycheck Fairness Act and raising the minimum wage to $15; or expand on Voting and Civil Rights, by passing the Equality Act Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights….

Did he talk about banning the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, requiring universal background checks, repealing the liability shield for gun manufacturers, and supporting community police and adequate funding for police departments??? Or, increasing Pell Grants though he briefly touched on support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, as well as investments in community colleges, and enacting privacy protections for children online; and providing a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, individuals with temporary status, farm workers and essential workers; and working with partners in South and Central America to host more refugees and secure their borders, without saying that these measure would certainly be blocked by the republicans without a change in the filibuster rules….

Many of the proposals remain stalled in the Senate, where Democrats hold the “edge” by virtue of the VP’s vote… if they can get a tie which is very, very dubious because of the recalcitrance of the two turncoats, manschittt and senselesscinema…..

Biden concluded with a message of unity. “The State of the Union is strong—because you, the American people, are strong,” Biden told the gathered lawmakers and millions watching at home. The United States, he said, is defined by “possibilities.” (the forgoing somewhat excerpted from various sources…)

Finally, Mr. Biden….Can we take an honest look at where we are and stop looking for mcconehead to help you out?? And tell your DNC and DCCC to start campaigning now in vulnerable areas where you think there’s a opportunity to change ”independent” minds…., because April will be too late. All I see is “preaching to the choir” and squeezing a buck out of Democratic senior citizens. You guys asks questions in “survey” and then if you don’t cough up a dollar or 50 bucks, you don’t want to know an opinion!!! That really needs to STOP!!!!         I want ot see some Democratic workers in the field talking about what the repubs have not done and prove to the masses that they are really are traitors to this nation and we need real Americans in Congress, not bootlickers to a criminal racist thief….

If you want to really, really get things done, like I’ve said before,                             1) Stop ALL sports in America, all sports until we get good laws passes… these millionaire, billionaires are getting a pass…placing some sort of innocuous ‘slogan’ on their shirts or hats is really sitting out the struggle ant no cost..    They ain’t bothered by the inequities at street level ..they go home to mansions and great food and wait to perform for another paycheck…..”No sweat”…… but if you wanna see progress, everybody has to have a stake…..and taking a cut in income is worth the price of changing America….
2) Get the courage to add six more justices to the Supreme Court… judges who understand progress and liberties, not some bozo elected by the federalist society…a rich white racist group who care nothing about Americans, just their pocketbooks and avoiding taxes…. Give us some real honest progressive judges, please????

Last, baseball is on strike by virtue of the lockout….It’s okay with me… I’m tired of guys hitting .220 or .115, whiffing like they are paid to miss the ball or guys throwing (they call it, pitching) every other pitch to the backstop and making a million or ten…  I’m watching cable news and movies……

Enough said, I’m out!!!!

p.s By the way, you notice how high the internet costs are and the fact that we pay to look at inane commercials after stupid commercials!!! The Feds are trying to increase coverage but how about reducing the prices that are outrageous?   We are saturated with commercials.... for 20 minutes at clip!!! It used to be a limit to how much time is devoted to ads but now, you can actually take a twenty minute water closet break and come back to the SAME commercial, not a rerun of what you left but the same freaking one!!!! And even sports game stop play to antagonize you…… It needs to stop!!!!
